Ote Berry grew up in the badlands of South Dakota and attributes his successful career to his upbringing and his family’s way of life. He is the youngest of five and he grew up ranching with his dad and siblings. Berry got his first big win at age 17 in 1980 at the National High School Finals. His career took off from there.
He still hazes, puts on clinics and his children are competing in on the pro rodeo circuit today. Berry stopped competing in 2006 but is still playing a huge active roll in the sport of rodeo.
