Western Sports Round-Up takes a deep look at the PRCA’s Top 5 bull riders

If spring was a preview of summer, we are going to see a lot of ping-ponging back and forth among the PRCA’s best bull riders.

Six-time World Champion Sage Kimzey is back to the No. 1 spot in the world thanks to a stretch of eight consecutive bull rides and $15,536 earned since April 1. Kimzey has covered 11-of-16 bulls since April 1 and is averaging 85.8 points on those 11.

The man Kimzey recently supplanted was Colten Fritzlan, who after winning RFD-TV’s The American in March, has been competing in the PBR and the PRCA. Fritzlan has won $4,623 April 1 and is 2-of-3 at PRCA rodeos for an average of 87.25 points.

The 2020 World Champion is in third place. Stetson Wright is 6-of-12 since April 1 but has won more money than any bull rider in the PRCA in that timeframe with $19,381.

The two cowboys in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots may have something to say about the Gold Buckle race as well. No. 5 Laramie Mosely has won $16,726 since April 1 and No. 4 Josh Frost has won $13,077.
