Meet the Athlete - Jake Finlay

Jake Finlay is an Australian saddle bronc rider from Goondiwindi, Queensland. He college rodeoed at Oklahoma Panhandle State University for Robert Etbauer when he became the 2018 Saddle Bronc Riding Champion at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.

Since 2017 he has barely been out of making the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo two times. He was ranked seventeenth in the PRCA World Standings in 2019 and twentieth in 2020.

In 2021 he has won the Ram National Circuit Finals in Kissimmee, Florida with an 88-point ride in the final round on Vold Rodeo’s Sun Glow. He placed in three of four rounds of the RNCFR while representing the Prairie Circuit. Finlay won the Prairie Circuit Finals in October of 2020 with an average of 169 points on two head.

Finlay also placed at Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo in May with 85 points on Molly Brown in May, Georgia National Rodeo with 80 points on Oak Leaf of Barnes PRCA Rodeo in February and at the North Dakota Winter Show with 80.5 points on Bailey Pro Rodeo’s Big Casino in March.
