Wade Sundell gets first win of the new season in Guymon

Last out on Friday night in Guymon, Oklahoma, world champ and fan favorite Wade Sundell did not disappoint. He rode Dakota Rodeo’s Jimmy for 89 points, to take the lead in the average and later claim the Guymon Pioneer Days championship title, along with a check for $3,638.

“Well, Tilden broke his spur earlier and I broke mine — imagine what we could have really done with two of them,” said Sundell with a sly grin following his 89-point ride.

Sundell is now back for his first full rodeo season since his nearly fatal injury in 2019, and while he currently sits No. 22 in the World Standings, we have a good feeling we may see him back in Vegas come December.
