Thursday night marks the second night of semi-final action at Cowtown Coliseum.

Like every performance at RFD-TV’s The American, this one is also littered with rodeo stars.

In the bareback riding, past NFR qualifiers Chad Rutherford, Caleb Bennett and Ty Breuer will all be competing.

In steer wrestling, we will see last night’s winner Scott Guenther go once again after qualifying for the semi-finals twice. He will be joined in the performance by 2019 World Champion Ty Erickson and three-time NFR qualifier J.D. Struxness.

The team roping will include perennial NFR qualifiers Kaleb Driggers and Charly Crawford each competing with two different partners Thursday. One of those heeling for Driggers will be his old partner Junior Nogueira, whom he won The American Rodeo with in 2018.

In rodeo’s classic event, there will be two members of the Wright family (Jesse and Spencer) as well as six-time NFR qualifier and past American Rodeo champion Cort Scheer. Isaac Diaz and Dawson Hay are in the field as well.

The headliner in the tie-down roping is Caleb Smidt, a seven-time NFR qualifier and two-time World Champion who turned down his exemption into the finals to instead take a run at the $1 million prize. He will compete twice.

In breakaway roping, 2019 American Rodeo champion will be competing on her second qualification as will world No. 1 Martha Aneglone. Up-and-coming star Josie Conner will rope Thursday as well.

Barrel racing will include Bristan Kennedy and Kassie Mowry, both of whom clocked times of 13.50 seconds or less during the slack rounds.

And finally in bull riding, there will be four PBR World Champions riding at Cowtown Coliesum. JB Mauney, Cooper Davis, Jose Vitor Leme and Jess Lockwood are all competing in the same go-round.
