He won the rodeo in Odessa, he won the Xtreme Bulls in Rapid City, but it has been a rough road for bull rider Josh Frost.
After qualifying for his first National Finals Rodeo in 2019 and winning the Linderman Award, 2020 was supposed to be his year.
Fast forward to Feb. 4, 2020. Frost rode for 89.5 points at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo but an awkward get-off left him hospitalized and then out for most of the year.
“When I got off instead of bucking and throwing me out of there, I slid right underneath him,” Frost said. “He stepped right on my stomach and I was 89.5, so it’s hard to be hurt when you win the round but after about three hours I realized I wasn’t doing so good and headed into the hospital. “
