Bridger Anderson said potentially winning $1 million is huge, but he’s happy he finished ninth in the world so he does not have to battle it out at the semi-finals of The American Rodeo this year.
“Big relief to actually get to go to AT&T and get to run ‘em there,” he said. “I’m okay with not having to go through the semi-finals to get through it. I’m just excited to run at that big money ($100,000).
Anderson, who made the Shootout Round in steer wrestling at AT&T Stadium after coming up through qualifying, said it can be hard mentally to run that many steers against that many guys.
“You kinda gotta stay out of your own head,” he said. “As long as you don’t overthink it and you don’t get it your own way, it can be fairly profitable and you can continue to advance.”
