Richmond Champion was the first cowboy to win $1 million and to this day, he is the only qualifier to win the full $1 million prize.
Champion says he remembers being nervous before he got on because of all the pressure. He said he wanted to nod quickly so he had nothing to think about.
“That was a very special, special day, for sure,” he said.
