Rodeo Austin, which was scheduled for March 13-27, will not take place then because portions of the Travis County Expo Center and Ludecke Arena are being used to distribute essential items during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of this, only the youth competitions will go on as scheduled.

In a statement, Rodeo Austin said it was working to reschedule the rodeo, carnival and fair that have brought entertainment to the community since 1938.

“We are heartbroken to cancel the ProRodeo, carnival, fair and BBQ Austin for this March,” the statement said. “But the health and safety of our community is our greatest concern.”
