The PBR unveiled a new event format in Ocala, Florida over the weekend that will see two champions crowned over two days.
Each day, each cowboy in the Top 30 will get on at least one bull with the Top 12 getting back on another bull that same day.
Under the new single-day format of competition, both Saturday and Sunday will have champions and the cowboy with the most total points will be named the overall event champion. In the first weekend of competition, the cowboy with the most world points would be named the event winner. On Jan. 22, that was changed to the current structure of the cowboy with top aggregate score getting the buckle and the bonus.
For example, in Ocala, the event was won by Mauricio Moreira and Sunday was won by Junior Patrick Souza. Moreira was named the overall event winner for his 130 total world points, which earned him an additional $10,000 and a Montana Silversmiths buckle.
