Adam Gray is heading to his sixth career NFR after earning $46,851 during the regular season. He was living life on the bubble as he qualified in the 14th spot. Gray finished $800 ahead of Hunter Herrin who captured the final qualifying spot and just $1,000 ahead of Cory Solomon in 16th place.
Gray was off to a hot start early in the 2020 season with a win at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo after stopping the clock at 7.2 seconds. The win would earn him more than $2,400.
Gray followed that up with a strong showing at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo the following weekend. He placed second in round one, and fourth in the third round. In total, he won more than $5,600 at the rodeo.
It took until June for Gray to get another big check, which he did at the World’s Oldest Rodeo where he placed third and took home $1,857.
ADAM GRAY - 8.6 SECONDS, WORLD’S OLDEST RODEO
In August Gray took home $2,500 at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo after placing fifth thanks to an 8.1-second run.
One of three of Gray’s 2020 wins came in late August at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. Gray’s run of 7.8-seconds won him the championship and a $1,000 check.
There is plenty of opportunity for Gray to move up in the standings at the NFR. Tuf Cooper sits just $20,000 ahead of Gray in second place.
