PRCA CEO George Taylor and CMO Steve Rempelos join Janie Johnson on ProRodeo Tonight to talk about the latest happenings in ProRodeo, including the conclusion of the 2020 season and the importance of the September rodeos.
They cover the upcoming ProRodeo Tour Finale, the RAM National Circuit Finals, and the XTreme Bulls Tour Finale, all of which have been relocated this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the announcement of the new Yellowstone Bareback Riding Match, being held Labor Day weekend on the set of the popular TV series.
Looking back at the 2020 season in a year when most major events from March on have been canceled, Rempelos acknowledges the importance of the local communities and small town rodeos that are the bread and butter of the PRCA. On what this year has taught him, Taylor says, “One of the top things is the resilience of our committees and our cowboys. You know, it’s been a hard year, but they just keep on after it. And the other rewarding thing is that the fans really stick by our side. ... And our cowboys have been really good about it, really appreciative in a hard year of being able to get out there and go.”
When asked about plans for the NFR, Taylor says the PRCA is hoping to make some big announcements in the next 30-45 days, but both men assure that there WILL be a National Finals this year, even if unsure exactly what it will look like right now.
