Frontier Rodeo Company recently announced that Medicine Woman will be retiring after this year at the age of 17.
A 4X World Champion, Medicine Woman is one of the best bucking horses in the business. “She’s been a great horse ever since we started bucking her, and she went on to become the very best horse that we ever raised, by far,” says Frontier Rodeo Company GM Heath Stewart. “She’s got a big heart. I mean, she tries hard every single time. I guess that’s what makes her good is her heart. She likes doing it.”
Stewart says Medicine Woman’s last rodeo will either be the 2020 NFR or RFD-TV’s The American in March 2021. After that, she will be staying home to breed and raise the next generation of Frontier Rodeo superstars.
“We want to take her out on the top of her game,” Stewart says, “and they’ve won a lot of money of her this year.”
Most recently, reigning All-Around World Champion Cowboy Stetson Wright went 87 points on Medicine Woman in Spanish Fork, Utah, splitting second and third with Jake Watson and pocketing $5,151 in prize money.
