Karlanny Rocha (@karlannyrocha) of Brazil has a unique talent - one that every denim jacket lover wishes they had. She’s not the first to paint on denim, but she’s the first to paint Fallon Taylor and Baby Flo racing an American flag on denim.
It’s a timely process, no doubt, but the end result is epic.
Rocha says each jacket takes about a week to make, but sometimes longer depending on each client’s desired concept.
“My proposal is that each one is unique and tells a story,” she said.
The stories told through the denim threads capture the inner spirit of her clients - to a T.
“I’ve always liked to draw and paint,” Rocha says. “Art has always been a part of me.”
After many years of “standing still” as an artist, she got back into painting a year and a half ago. Somewhere along the way she put a paint brush to denim and the rest is history.
