The College National Finals Rodeo contract for Casper, Wyoming, is up for renewal and while other cities are eager to get the CNFR, Casper is intent on keeping it.

Casper City Council members and Natrona County Commissioners approved a contract last week to keep the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper through 2027. Now they just need the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association to sign off.

The proposed extension includes increased amount of sponsorship fees, and both the city and county would pay $2,000 added each year to the CNFR.

“The economic impact of that event is huge to our city, huge to our county, huge to our community, said Casper Events Center General Manager Brad Murphy.

Murphy told Wyoming News Now that the total annual economic impact from CNFR is between $3.5 and $4 million.
