Joe Beaver and Chet Johnson recently joined us for an episode of ProRodeo Tonight. With Janie Johnson dishing out questions, the three were able to breakdown and compare bareback riders Kaycee Feild, Tim O’Connell and Clayton Biglow as we approach the return of ProRodeo.
They first discuss Kaycee Feild and if they think he can get his fifth world title this year.
“The way Kaycee is dedicated and he’s finally healthy, I bet he’s at home, getting as good as he possibly can as far as shape goes,” Chet said, " and getting fired up to get that other world title.
Joe brings up the fact that Feild, (33 years old), O’Connell (29 years old), and Bigalow (24 years old) are all coming back from injuries. He thinks the time off and their current spots in the PRCA world standings will aide in their success in the shortened rodeo season.
Janie asked if Clayton’s age would give him a leg up on Kaycee and Tim.
Joe thinks the younger age plays a role as far as soreness post-rodeo, or recovery time post-injury, but when it comes down to who’s going to make it to the finals - experience and toughness is what matters.
Chet thinks the 10 year age gap between Feild and Biglow could make itself known once they really hit the rodeo road trying to make up for lost time.
