NCWHM Head of Security is a New Twitter Icon

When the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City was forced to temporarily close its doors due to the coronavirus, its head of security, Tim Send, took over the museum’s twitter account — being one of the only staff members still on property.

It took him a minute to get a handle of how the social media platform works, but people love him for it. Not only has the museum’s following grown exponentially, Tim has grown a national fan base.

Giving an inside look at museum displays and his opinions of them, Tim’s tweets are sometimes informative, sometimes confusing, sometimes hilarious, and always genuine. His typical sign off:

"#HashtagTheCowboy Thanks, Tim”

Walking through the Dorothea Lange Exhibition and this photo caught my eye. It’s called Man with Cap from 1934. Doesn’t he kind of look like that kid from that movie The Notebook? Tina, my wife, made me watch it. #HashtagTheCowboy Thanks, Tim. pic.twitter.com/a9Paw2E3YC — Nat’l Cowboy Museum (@ncwhm) March 23, 2020
