Going three for three in the first rounds at the 2016 NFR, Shane Proctor won the third night when he scored 91 points on Andrews Rodeo Company’s Midnight Bender, the reigning PRCA Bull of the Year.
Although the 2011 world champion didn’t take the gold buckle that year, his ride on Midnight Bender marked a career best, not to mention got the crowd on their feet with their cheers echoing through the arena.
Proctor went on to place in all of the first seven rounds consecutively, splitting the seventh with Cody Rostockyj and Garret Tribble in a three-way tie. He finished first in the bull riding at the 2016 National Finals and his earnings took him from 15th to 3rd overall in the PRCA | RAM world standings.
