Last night in RFD-TV’s The American Semifinals Performance 1 at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, bareback rider Chance Ames tied Anthony Barrington for the top spot on the leaderboard with a 79.25-point ride on Stace Smith’s Sour Dough.
“I didn’t really know much about him — I just knew he was gonna be good,” the 21-year-old Wyoming cowboy says about his Perf. 1 horse. " Stace Smith told me before I got on him that I had to have a good mark out and the rest would take care of itself.”
Luckily, that’s exactly how it played out for Ames. Three re-rides from Performance 1 will take place tonight, following which the final results will be posted. Performance 2 and 3 will be held Friday and Saturday nights, after which the top 10 riders from the Semifinals rounds will advance to Sunday’s Short-Go.
