Bareback rider Mason Clements was the high-money earner in Bracket 1 at $7,000 and stands to add even more to his checking account when he returns to compete in the Semifinals.
He won the first round, finished second the following afternoon, then won again in the last round at which he was matched up with Beutler and Son Rodeo’s Horse of the Year Killer Bee. Clements scored 79 points in the final round and brought his total to $7,000 with a $2,500 win.
It was then barrel racer Ryann Pedone, who qualified to compete at San Antonio for the first time in 2020, that came away with the most money in Bracket 2.
She swept the bracket winning all three rounds, coming away with $7,500. She and her horse Stinger also set a new arena, stopping the clock in under 14 seconds for the first time with a 13.98 in their final run on Sunday. They’re headed in the to the semifinals in a good position to qualify for the championships, considering spots are determined by total earnings.
