Before his shift in the sheep ring, San Angelo Stock Show committee member Spencer Plagens talks to Kirbe Schnoor about volunteering at the show and working with the junior exhibitors and their animals.
“Well, it’s great to see all these kids,” he says. “They put a lot of time and effort into their projects, and you can tell that they really do care a lot. It’s a lot of responsibility and for them to bring them here, get them ready, and take off from school — it’s a big commitment.”
On also being a member of the syndicate, which was established just last year, Plagens says, “We’re trying to bring up the sale from the bottom up, and so I think it’s a great cause. We’ve had a lot of support, and it’s a lot of fun.”
