Before his performance at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, 6X Wrangler NFR qualifier Isaac Diaz talks to Western sports reporter Amy Wilson about recently qualifying for the 2020 American semi-finals while in Denver for the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo. The saddle bronc rider is excited to have a shot at the $1 million side pot if able to make it to the finals, especially having missed out on qualifying for the NFR this past December due to injuries.
“I mean, there’s so many opportunities nowadays where you don’t have to make the NFR to make a living anymore the way you used to have to — especially with The American. I mean, geez, that’s changing people’s lives. And the only way for it to change your own life is to be one of the people amongst them, so I’m just happy to be going and have a chance at it, and I hope I make it all the way to The American.”
RFD-TV’s The American semi-finals will be held February 24–March 1 at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth. The finals will take place the following weekend, March 7–8 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
