The Coors Western Art Exhibition & Sale has been running for 27 straight years and allows patrons the opportunity to purchase western art in the same venue you can purchase steers.
Just a few floors above the steers, being presented at the National Western Stock Show, is the art sale where more than $700,000 is spent in roughly three hours.
Select artworks are made available through silent auctions, and also have a “buy now” price listed.
The highest sale of the night was a large oil painting titled “Aglow” (2019) by Rick Stevens from Santa Fe for $21,000.
The art sale is a non-profit organization, with proceeds funding scholarships in agriculture and veterinary medicine for rural areas.
The NWSS began a partnership with the Coors Western Art Exhibition Show in 1993 and now has up to 75 artists’ work on display.
