PRCA‘s 2017 Resistol Rookie of the Year steer wrestler Jesse Brown had a great night last night at the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo, stopping the clock in 3.1 seconds, just two-tenths off the arena record that was set in 1974 by Duane Foster. It was much-needed fats run for Brown.

With a total time of 10.1 seconds he currently sits ninth overall and has high hopes of staying in the top 24 to make it to the semi-finals. Just two sets of competitors are left to compete for a chance at the semis, and if Brown makes it to Saturday’s performance, he’ll have a fresh start at a fast time in order to advance to the championship finals on Sunday.

Today the rodeo action kicks off in Denver at 10:30 AM MT, with a new crop of contestants competing in the first round. They will have their second round Thursday night at 7:00 PM MT.
