From the National Western Stock Show in Denver, The Cowboy Channel’s Kirbe Schnoor speaks with National Junior Angus Board of Directors’ Grady Dickerson about his role as the Leadership Director.
Dickerson, who has aged out of the junior division, started showing red angus cattle when he was 6 years old. “Looking back now, I do miss it a lot,” Dickerson says. “It was just, it was one of those things where you always get dragged out at like 2 or 3 in the morning, and you hate yourself for it. But then years go by a little, and you look back, and you really enjoyed those times.”
Luckily Dickerson still gets to be involved, overseeing youth conferences and competitions at the Junior Nationals as the Leadership Director. “It’s a real great honor to have that duty, putting on the green jacket and everything. It means a lot to all of us. It’s a service deal. I mean, we put it on, we go out there, and all we’re trying to do is help out the juniors. And I’m really happy that I get to do that.”
