Stetson Wright on His Start in Saddle Bronc Riding and Competing Alongside His Brothers

It may seem as though five-time World Champion Stetson Wright was born riding broncs but just like everyone else, this cowboy had to build his confidence and work his way to the top.

Wright qualified for the National Finals Rodeo in the saddle bronc riding for the first time in 2020. Bull riding had been Wright’s primary focus until he proved to himself that saddle bronc riding was in his blood. After this realization, Wright’s rodeo career would never be the same.

Stetson and Ryder Wright spent their 2021 rodeo season going back and forth between first and second place in the World Standings and finished out at the National Finals Rodeo where Stetson unexpectedly won his first World Championship in the Saddle Bronc Riding.

“I guess when you’re competing against your brother with the same goal and for him to be that proud of you is something special cause he wasn’t mad he was tickled pink, he actually told my mom he was happier when I won that World Title then he was when he won his,” Wright said.

With all four brothers now riding professionally, the Wrights continue to be each other’s biggest supporters in all aspects of rodeo.
