Stetson Wright took a substantial lead in the saddle bronc riding during the second performance of the Horse Heaven Roundup Rodeo in Kennewick, Washington and it held up to win the Long Round.
Wright matched up with Calgary Stampede’s Cracking The Till for 87 points to give him what was a 2.5 point lead at the time.
“My biggest thing, as soon as she left, was to get a good mark out because it would set up my whole ride. She was completely different this time than last time... This time she stalled and then came around to the right real tight but, I mean, that’s just a fun horse,” Wright said.
He said he always thought she was a scary bucking horse but now he loves getting on her. Cracking The Till is still young and is showing a lot of promise for a big career.
Brody Wells and Statler Wright split second in the Long Round with 85 points apiece. The winner of the Horse Heaven Round-Up is determined by a two-head Average.
