Shad Mayfield Takes Home the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Title

Shad Mayfield’s 7.8-second run clinches victory and $26,500 in earnings

Shad Mayfield, the 2020 World Champion tie-down roper, locked in the win at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, his third career Texas Swing triumph.

Mayfield’s 7.8-second run in the Finals solidified his position at the top of the leaderboard.

Mayfield made his way to the Semifinals as he advanced out of Bracket 7 with a win in Round 1 and a fourth-place finish in Round 2. A 7.5-second run in Semifinals B locked Mayfield into the No. 1 spot while securing his position in the Short Go.

His performance in the Finals brought his total earnings inside Dickies Arena to $26,500 as he now sits No. 1 in the PRCA World Standings with $63,633 earned already this season. His lead in the World Standings is massive as the next closest cowboy, Chance Thiessen, barley has more than $20,000.

While Mayfield claimed the top spot, fellow ropers Tyler Milligan, Chance Oftedahl, and Tom Couse also delivered impressive performances, each taking home a piece of the purse in the Fort Worth Finals.
