Shad Mayfield looks poised to enter the 2022 NFR in the No. 1 Spot in Tie-Down Roping. He further proved he belongs at the top over the weekend with a win in Puyallup at the Cinch NFR Playoffs.
Mayfield posted a 9.4-second run and an 8.8-second run on Sunday to capture the win, which he credits to his horse, Rampage.
“This one felt really good, I came back today and knew what I needed to do. My horse has been awesome, he won first and third today. I am blessed to be here and love being in Puyallup.”
Mayfield currently owns a $23,000 lead over John Douch in second place and will enter the 2022 NFR looking for his second World Title in three years.
