Sarah Angelone Ties Arena Record at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Alongside Danielle Lowman

Sarah Angelone and Danielle Lowman make breakaway roping history in Bracket 4 of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo

Breakaway roper Sarah Angelone made waves at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with her lightning-fast run of 1.6 seconds in Round 3 of Bracket 4, tying the arena record with her close friend Danielle Lowman, who had also matched the time just a day earlier in Round 2.

World Champion Breakaway Roper Kelsie Domer set the arena record in 2023 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with a 1.6-second run also in Bracket 4.

The friendship and camaraderie shared between the two cowgirls serve as ongoing sources of motivation for them.

“We actually both have very different styles and we like to ride very different styles of horses too but I love watching her win and she loves watching me win and I feel like we just feed off of each other and it’s so cool to be around somebody that pushes you to be better,” Angelone said.

Angelone’s trusty horse played a crucial role in her success, helping her secure the top spot in Bracket 4 with earnings of $6,750.

Lowman will also be advancing to the Semifinals as she notched fourth-place in Bracket 4. While Lowman sits No. 1 in the WPRA World Standings, Angelone’s plans for the 2024 season remain undecided as she weighs her options for the summer run.

With Lowman clinching her second record-setting run of the season, both she and Angelone persist in showcasing their dominance in the world of rodeo.
