Sage Kimzey Goes 92 Points in Round 10 and Pays Tribute to Injured Friend Tyler Bingham

In Round 7 bull rider Tyler Bingham took a nasty spill that resulted in him being rushed to the hospital with extensive injuries. He was able to attend to the final round, though, showing his support for his fellow bull riders, and friend Sage Kimzey took note.

At the end of his 92-point ride on Dakota Rodeo’s Safety Meeting, Kimzey looked back to the chutes and pointed. In the moment, commentator and legendary bull rider Don Gay assumed Kimzey was talking to the flank man and conjectured he might lose a few points for that, but Kimzey didn’t care — because, in actuality, he pointing back to where Bingham was sitting, as if to say, That one was for you buddy.

The following day, when thanking friends, family, and fans for all of their support, Bingham called Kimzey out specifically, noting:

“The amount of love, prayers, and support I’ve received is absolutely amazing. I will never take another rodeo, bull or friend for granted. You truly never know when the last one will be. ... Sage Kimzey you have gone above and beyond to show your love and friendship to me! I will never be able to thank you enough!”
