Trevor Hale saved his best for last, tying Jordan Ketscher with an 8.0-second flat run to win the Short Go in Pendleton and claim the event title via the Average.
“I had good calf right there, my horse let me do my job and he did his, that’s all we can ask for,” Hale said.
Hale was 29.0 seconds on three head to get the better of Ketscher by a half-second. It was the 20-year-old’s first trip to Pendleton.
“This is probably my favorite rodeo all year, it’s wild, it’s Western, I love it,” he said.
