Red-Hot Dalton Massey Wins Pool A, Round 1 in Calgary

The top-ranked steer wrestler in the PRCA continued a terrific start to the Summer Run in Canada

Dalton Massey entered Calgary off of wins at the Reno Rodeo and Ponoka Stampede in recent days and didn’t miss a beat at The Stampede with a 4.7-second run to grab $7,000 and put himself in an early position to advance.

“I’m riding the best horse in the World, Eddie, got Tanner Milan hazing and got a great traveling crew, and I’ve been drawing awesome and the ball has just been falling my way,” Massey said. “I just have so much confidence in that horse, I feel like I can hit the barrier every single time.”

Reigning Calgary Stampede Champion Scott Guenthner took second with a 4.8 to win $5,500 while 2023 NFR Average Champion Don Payne was third and made $4,500 for a 5-flat run.

All of Pool A is back for two more rounds on Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 PM ET on The Cowboy Channel and Cowboy Channel+.
