The steer wrestlers inside the Top 15 have kept their earnings consistent this season making it a battle for anybody gunning for one of those 15 spots. With the money that September rodeos have to offer, one cowboy in particular made a jump from outside to the Top 20 to just outside the Top 15.
Take a look at your Top 20 in the PRCA World Standings.
No. 1 Dalton Massey, $185,874
Massey’s 2023 season has been nothing short of spectacular and he has yet to slow down. He picked up another hefty check at the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo when he was a 3.5 in the Finals to earn another $13,000 and the win. His lead is now $40,000 over reigning World Champion Tyler Waguespack.
No. 4 Ty Erickson $117,970
Paydays in Montana and Washington have bumped Erickson up one spot. Four Go-Round checks added more than $11,000 to his earnings, the highest of those checks coming from the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo. It was a third-place finish that was worth $6,500.
No. 5 Dakota Eldridge, $115,887
The state of Washington has been good to the Nevada bulldogger during the month of September. At the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo, he moved on to the Finals where he threw down a 3.9-second run to finish second.
No. 10 Stephen Culling, $100,667
The Lewiston Roundup, the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo and the Pendelton Round-Up have all contributed to Culling moving up two spots. It was the Go-Round win in Washington that added the most money to his earnings.
No. 16 Cameron Morman, $73,506
Morman made a huge jump from No. 22 to No. 16 after a big win came his way in Pendelton, Oregon. Although it was a rough First Round, it started to come together in Round 2 before he finished it off with a 4.8 in the Finals to be the Champion.
