PRCA CEO George Taylor Talks NFR 2020 on Location at Globe Life Stadium

During a press conference held yesterday morning at Globe Life Stadium — with industry leaders, local politicians, and some of the top rodeo athletes in attendance — PRCA CEO George Taylor made the announcement that the 2020 Wrangler NFR will be coming to Texas.

“It’s an understatement to say this has been a challenging year,” Taylor said. "... We think this is something that can help bring it forward, and ProRodeo is needed now in this country more than ever before.”

The main reason for the choice of new venue — to have fans in attendance.

Going through the results of the recent PRCA 2020 NFR Fan Experience Survey, Taylor said, “Our fans told us overwhelmingly that they wanted to have a rodeo that they could participate in. ... Eighty percent of the people said they wanted to come to a rodeo and they wanted to participate in the rodeo experience.”

Athletes likewise prefer to have the stands filled for the 10 days of performances, something that would not have been possible had the NFR remained in Las Vegas. “Our cowboys and cowgirls love to compete in front of fans,” Taylor said, "... and our cowboys, just like the Cowboys across the street are planning to do in a few weeks, will compete here in front of fans, safely.”
