PBR Canada No. 1 Dakota Buttar talks about his chance at history and upcoming Cup Series events

Dakota Buttar is ranked No. 1 in the PBR Canada Standings and if he is able to stay there, he will be the first bull rider in history to win back-to-back PBR Canada Championships.

“I haven’t been focused on that at all, my goal for the season is to be the 2021 champion. It’d be cool to make history and be repeat like that but that’s not on my mind at all,” he said.

Last weekend, Buttar won the PBR Canada Series event in Calgary by riding Langham Kid for 84 points in Round 1 and 89.5 on Norse God in the Final Round.

“I wasn’t first coming into the Short Round so I had to make up some ground, some guys ahead of me were two or four points more than me in the First Round so I had to beat a bunch to be them guys,” he said of selecting Norse God.
