Linderman Award winner Josh Frost joins Western Sports Round-Up

The Linderman Award was not awarded in 2020 which means it was two in a row for Josh Frost, who won the award in 2019 and 2021.

Frost won over $130,000 in the bull riding this year in addition to $4,100 in the tie-down roping and $1,070 in the steer wrestling. In order to win the Linderman Award, a cowboy must earn at least $1,000 in three events, including one timed event and one roughstock event.

Frost is going to the NFR for the second time as a bull rider, but was also proud to say he won his first-ever PRCA rodeos in the tie-down roping this year.

He narrowly made enough to be eligible for the Linderman Award. He says he gave himself a two-week window to get enough money won in his two timed events, but ended up about $250 short in steer wrestling. At the end of August, he tried once more and entered four rodeos to clear the $1,000 mark which he did.

Frost’s brother Joe won the Linderman Award in 2014.
