Legendary Bareback Horse, Night Jacket, Claims His Spot in ProRodeo Hall of Fame

J Bar J’s Night Jacket is a legendary bucking horse who rightfully earned his place in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.

Born on Jim and Maggie Zinser’s ranch in Michigan, Night Jacket is sired by Big Timber and out of a mare called Nightmare. Night Jacket would go on to be selected as a National Finals Rodeo bareback horse for seven consecutive years from 2000-2007 before he was retired in 2007. He was one of five horses that the Zinser’s did not sell when they sold J Bar J to Mark “Sparky” Dreesen in 2008.

When 2009 rolled around, Cullen Pickett purchased Night Jacket at the age of 15-years-old. Since his retirement in the arena, the big paint’s offspring have lived up to the shoes he left for them to fill. Dreesen says that one of the biggest impacts that Night Jacket has left so far is the air that his offspring are able to get. He says that Night Jacket’s offspring give cowboys a chance to showoff, just like their dad.

From an unforgettable career to producing prodigy that seem to be the same, once in a lifetime caliber, Night Jacket has added his name to the history books of rodeo once again as he is now a member of the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.
