One of rodeo’s busiest and most exciting week has come to a close.

One of the sport’s most celebrated stretches, the Fourth of July run featured patriotic celebrations as America marked its 250th anniversary while athletes chased coveted titles and looked to strengthen their 2026 summer campaigns.

Better known as Cowboy Christmas, the week produced storylines that could reshape championship races and set the tone for the remainder of the 2026 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) season.

With more than 35 rodeos across the United States and Canada offering more than $3 million in added money, Cowboy Christmas once again proved why it is one of the most lucrative and bustling weeks in professional rodeo.

From the iconic Calgary Stampede to historic rodeos in Cody, Wyoming; St. Paul, Oregon; and Prescott, Arizona, athletes continued building momentum in the PRCA World Standings during one of the busiest stretches of the season.

So, whose season changed projection with help from a successful Cowboy Christmas?

Calf roper Riley Webb topped the Cowboy Christmas earnings leaderboards with $46,641 won, making the most of one of the PRCA’s richest weeks. The three-time world champion is in pursuit of his fourth consecutive gold buckle, extending his lead atop the PRCA World Standings to more than $50,000. Victories in St. Paul and Oakley, along with paydays in Ponoka, Greeley, Cody, Eugene and Basin City, showcased Webb’s consistency across North America’s biggest summer rodeos.

Tem time world champion Stetson Wright joined Webb among the week’s top earners, becoming one of the first two cowboys this season to surpass $200,000 in earnings and setting the pace for what could become another record-breaking year.

After an impressive start to the Calgary Stampede, the 10-time world champion has earned $20,783 thus far and continues to lead multiple standings. “Superman” sits atop the PRCA all-around and saddle bronc riding standings, surpassing the $200,000 mark in saddle bronc riding while nearing $300,000 in total earnings as he continues another historic season.

Fellow bull rider and Resistol Rookie Noah Lee delivered one of the strongest Cowboy Christmas performances among rookies and veterans alike, climbing to No. 2 in the world standings with $172,321 earned this season. His week included victories at the St. Paul Rodeo earning $16,963, Cody Stampede, earning $10,863 and Livingston Roundup with $6,692.

World champion bareback rider Keenan Hayes continued his dominant return after missing much of 2025 because of injury. Championships at the Livingston Roundup and Black Hills Roundup propelled Hayes to No. 6 in the world standings as he continues his climb back into the winner’s circle.

For a pair of young team ropers, Cowboy Christmas may have brought their NFR dreams within reach.

Ketch Kelton and Denton Dunning each earned $20,422 during the week, highlighted by runner-up finishes at the Cody Stampede, Oakley Independence Day Rodeo, Basin City Freedom Rodeo and Killdeer Mountain Roundup. Following a highly successful Fourth of July run, Arizona’s Dunning climbed to No. 9 in the heeling world standings as he pursues his first NFR qualification.

Kelton made one of the week’s biggest jumps, moving to No. 11 in the heading world standings with $62,390 earned this season. The Resistol Rookie also leads the coveted Resistol Rookie of the Year race in both the heading and all-around standings.

From rookies making breakthrough performances to world champions further cementing their legacies, the 2026 Cowboy Christmas run showcased rodeo’s elite talent on some of the PRCA’s most iconic stages. With the summer run now in full swing, athletes will continue chasing NFR qualifications and coveted gold buckles as the road to Las Vegas continues.
