Josh Frost Wins Odessa on Beutler & Son’s Ring Master

With 86.5 points on Beutler & Son’s Ring Master, bull rider Josh Frost secured the win at the first stop on 2021 ProRodeo Tour in Odessa, Texas, at the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo.

The only other bull rider to have ridden Ring Master is 6X World Champion Sage Kimzey, for 72 points.

“He had a good day today, and it worked out for me,” Frost told sideline reporter Amy Wilson in an interview after his ride. “Looking him up, he had some pretty high markings, and I’m betting Sage was putting it on him and he didn’t know what to do and he might have cut a trail right there, but after that, they marked him good again, and he seemed to’ve figured it out today because he stayed hooked and gave a pretty good score.”

Frost also competed in the tie-down roping at Odessa, riding a horse he trained himself. “I’m going to start entering the calf roping a litle more this year, so I brought my horse down to Texas and I’ve been roping calves for a week or two before here,” he said. “It didn’t show - the roping part was a little rough tonight but ... we gave ‘er heck and didn’t get where we wanted to be, but it motivated me to ride good in the bull riding I guess.”
