The first big rodeo of the year concluded Saturday night in Odessa, Texas.

With a record high number of entries, which included some of the biggest names in rodeo; the top stock of Beutler & Son Rodeo, Powder River Rodeo, and Andrews Rodeo; and a total payout of more than $260,000, the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo kicked off the season right with stiff competition and thrilling rodeo action.

Among the big winners were 2X All-Around World Champion Stetson Wright, who took first in the saddle bronc riding and split sixth in the bull riding; bareback rider Will Lowe, who made his comeback at the Super Series Finish in 2020 after his head injury incurred at the National Western Rodeo in Denver to finish No. 28 in the 2020 Standings; and Ivy Saebens, who is back on JLo following JLo’s tragic health scare in December.
