Jimmie Smith Turns in the Fastest Time of the Rodeo so far with new Partner Viper at Cheyenne

Jimmie Smith has been through hardship this year.

After needing to give her main horse Lena time off for recovery, she was riding horse named Cuatro. Then last month while traveling between rodeos, Smith was in a serious accident, blowing a tire on the highway and being hit by a semi. Cuatro tragically did not survive.

But Viper, who Smith has only made a handful of runs on, has proven to be a blessing for the young barrel racer. Today in Cheyenne, the duo not only won the round to advance to the Semi-FInals, they turned in the fastest time of the rodeo so far.
