Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Has 90 Years of Positive Impact

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo began 90 years ago as a way to promote the cattle industry and since has survived many challenges including the Great Depression, war, natural disasters and more. However, the volunteers and staffed have persevered to keep giving back to the agriculture community every year.

“Our volunteers are everybody, all ages, all career backgrounds, all ethnicities. It’s a great blend of folks who bring different a diverse skills to the show,” said Chairman of the Board, Brady Carruth.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo measures their success not by the numbers of people that walk through their gates but by the number of lives that their organization touches each year. Their educational commitment is unmatched and the impact they make on people is unforgettable.
