With a re-ride option in the bareback, Kaycee Feild knew exactly what he had to win his fifth World Championship.

Feild set Globe Life Field on fire with 91 points on the back of Junior Bonner to overtake Jess Pope, who was 89.5, and get the Round 10 win. With that Round 10 win, Feild added a fifth Gold Buckle, giving him more than any other bareback rider ever.

“These are the pressure situations I dream of, the situations that are the toughest,” he said. “I drew the right horse and I just knew I needed to get past the first jump and just have fun after that.”

The Go-Round win lifted Feild into second in the average, in front of Tim O’Connell, who rode Two Buck Chuck for 89 points. Feild finished with 849.5 points on 10 head and O’Connell was 847.5 on 10.

Feild trailed O’Connell by about $16,000 heading into the final round.

The Utah cowboy finishes the season with $277,648.

“This is pretty special. I have a lot to say, but I don’t even know where to begin,” Feild said. “I’m really excited.”

O’Connell finished second in the world with $270,991 and Pope, an NFR rookie, was third with $220,028. Pope also won the average with 853 points on 10 head.
