Four-time world champion Kaycee Feild is no stranger to the Wrangler NFR and he enters the 2020 edition in second place in the bareback riding world standings, trailing only Tim O’Connell.

Feild, who has been to the National Finals 10 times in his career, won $94,892 this season. More than half of that came from the $50,000 in PRCA money he earned by winning RFD-TV’s The American, which he did in style with 93 points on the back of C5 Rodeo’s Virgil.

“That horse is good, and I knew I had to keep my head and my chin down and keep gassing it,” Feild said after the ride. “Tim (O’Connell), Clayton (Biglow) and Tony (Barrington), those guys are great competitors and beating them feels pretty good.”

The months of July and September were when Feild did the rest of his damage in 2020.

Over the Fourth of July run, he won first place in both the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche, South Dakota and the Oakley Independence Day Rodeo in Utah, which won him close to $7,000 total. Later on that month, he was second at his hometown rodeo in Spanish Fork with 87 points on Kick Start, which won him about $6,000.

To close this season, Feild had an impressive string of second-place finishes starting at the Guymon Pioneer Days in late August then at the Iron County Fair and the Magic Valley Stampede in early September. For those three rodeos, he won about $7,500 combined.

Finally, his season concluded with two wins in the month of September. The first came at the Gooding ProRodeo with an 89.5-point ride on Game Trail, the other was thanks to an 88.5-point ride on Painted River at the Cowboy Capital Of The World PRCA Rodeo in Stephenville, Texas.
