Joey Williams’ trip to Ellensburg is one she will remember forever. Not only did she leave the Champion but she tied to set a new arena record. Overall, she was 7.2 seconds on three head to win the event and earn Female Athlete of the Week.

Williams is having success on a home raised and trained horse that was once her husband’s heel horse. Now, that has carried over the breakaway roping. Williams was were one of two ladies to rope a 2.1 in Ellensburg to set the arena record and then she went on to rope a 2.4 in Round 2 and a 2.7 in the Short Round to bring home over $7,000 and the Championship title.

Williams is No. 7 in the WPRA World Standings and will be attending the National Finals Breakaway Roping in Las Vegas at the end of November. Until then, she continues to add to her season earnings and rope quick as she nears the end of the summer run.
