Cory Solomon Wins Dodge City Roundup

Cory Solomon was the last tie-down roper up in the Short Round at the Dodge City Roundup and he knew exactly what he needed to do. He ended up with a 9.2 and he is the newest tie-down roping champion at the Dodge City Roundup.

“I just tried to get a good go from the start, I knew she was going to be pretty strong. I tried to read her pretty good when I got to the end of the rope but my horse helped me along the way to be able to get by big calves like that but it takes a team to be able to do what I do now and I’m so thankful,” he said.

Solomon was 26.8 seconds on three head, more than a second faster than the next closest cowboy, Marty Yates.

Solomon, who also won the First Round, won close to $12,000 for the entire rodeo.
