Colton Kelly had one of the highest scores in PRCA bull riding all season at the Dixie National on Friday night. He was 91.5 points on Stace Smith’s Let’s Gamble, which ended up being enough for a win and a $6,000 paycheck.
“I’ve known that bull for a long time and I saw Parker Breding ride him at the (National) Finals, I knew it was always one I wanted to draw, so when I got him here, I figured it was time to make it happen,” he said afterward. “I liked him a lot, he made me work for it.”
Kelly is working his way back from knee injury in Del Rio last year that left him sidelined for almost eight months.
“I’m a completely different person now, I look at things in a better way, in a positive way,” he said. “Even on our bad rides, we pick apart what we like and forget the rest.”
Brody Yeary ended up second in the event with 89.5 points, Trey Benton III and Connor Murnion split third with 89 apiece and Jordan Hansen rounded out the Top 5 with 88.
