Cole Franks rode for 87.5 points on Friday night in Jackson, Mississippi to win the one-head bareback riding at the Dixie National Rodeo.
Franks’ ride on Brookman’s Joe Dirt was a half-point better than Lane McGeehee was on Flying U’s Rose Valley on Thursday.
“I had a pretty good idea (the horse would be good), he does the same thing every time, he’s predictable,” Franks said. “So I was pretty excited to have him.”

Franks is currently No. 2 in the PRCA Bareback Riding World Standings is about $1,500 behind 2019 World Champion Clayton Biglow.
Franks won a total of $4,112 in Mississippi and all eight cowboys who got paid were at least 83.5 points.
“Super pumped to just keep the ball rolling and stacking stuff up,” Franks said.
