Clayton Sellars Wins San Angelo Xtreme Bulls as the Only Cowboy to Ride Two

Sellars increasingly looks like he’ll make his first NFR since 2021

Clayton Sellars tied for sixth in the Long Round at the San Angelo Xtreme Bulls before bursting for an 88.5-point ride in the Short Round to win the event with 173 points on two.

Sellars, who is ranked No. 2 in the PRCA World Standings, was the only one to cover both of his bulls on Sunday night. He won close to $15,000 for his win.

“I knew if I stayed on him, I had a really, really good chance to win the whole event, so that was kind of my mindset, just keep your hand shut and do everything you can no matter what,” he said of his dance with Pete Carr’s Time Bomb. “I see that bull all the time and he’s a really good bucking bull, he’s doing his job every time.”

Sellars is 8-for-10 in Xtreme Bulls events this season and has already made almost as much as he did the entire 2023 season when he finished No. 25 in the final PRCA World Standings.
